Life in America - What does it all mean?

Now that you have completed organizing your thoughts about the three texts we have been working with, it is time to begin a “mini-compare/contrast” essay. However, rather than writing an essay, you are going to be composing a blog entry.

Your Task:
Compare and Contrast TWO of the three texts we have been working with by writing three paragraphs about the significance in the different views portrayed about America.

What to include:
The titles of the two texts you will compare and contrast.
1 paragraph about the similarities in the two texts.
1 paragraph about the differences in the two texts.
1 paragraph reflecting on what this (the fact that they are different) suggests about life in America.

I’m picking two poems or you can say short story. Their names are “THE NEW COLOSSUS BY EMMA LAZARUS “and “TWO WAYS TO BELONG IN AMERICA “. In “the new colossus “ they talked about how America got the woman with the torch whose flame is imprisoned lighting and her name is mother of exiles . In “Two New Colossus “there are two blood sister that come America to looking for a better life.

Some of the similarities in the poems is that one they all have something to do with leaving there home place and coming to America for a specific reason. In one of the poems say that there was these two girls who left their home country to come to America for freedom and education. The other says of the land of opportunities and freedom is everywhere. So they both are similar to each other.
Another one of the similarities are the way the writer wrote the writing. The authors wrote in a way that placed an image in your mind that shows you what they are talking about. Imagery is the form of writing that the used. I like this style of writing because it puts me in the position of the writer and gives me all the scene, emotions, and feelings they write to use.
The writers; Bharati Mukherjee, and Emma Lazarus are the two authors that ii want to compare

The two poems i will be comparing snd contrsting are The new colossus, and Let america be america agian.

Some differences between the two stories are the fact that they have totally different main themes/ideas.I know this because in The new colussus Emma Lazarus states that america will accept the homless, and poor.As in Let AMerica be America agian,Langston Hughes just misses the way things used to be and also thinks at the same time America still was never America.

Although these poem are very different they do share alot of similarities at the time. For example such as the fact that they are both talking about America
